Different Types Of Pens
February 5th, 2010 by Rose
In ancient times for writing purposes people used reed and quill pens. Reed pens were made from bamboo or reed.
Although they started to disappear, some people continued writing with them, believing that reed pens would improve their handwriting.
Later people began using quill pens, which were made from feathers of geese and were dipped into ink. Quill pens were mainly used in the medieval period. With time these pens were replaced by more modern ones.
In the 1880s, the fountain pen was invented and became very popular. Fountain pens were used with the help of liquid ink.
A fiber tip pen varies in sizes such as small, medium and large. Small ones are used for the purpose of normal writing, and with the help of medium sized pens you can color. Larger pens are used for writing on pasteboard and plastic. This type of pen is appreciated mostly by children as they have many colors.
Nowadays the most popular pens are ballpoints. They’re reliable, easy to use and cheap.
A roller ball pen is very similar to a ballpoint pen but instead of liquid ink it uses gel ink. They’ve been in use since the mid 1990s. The only disadvantage of these pens is that they are not durable.
As you see there are a number of different kinds of office pens. So choose the one that will be best for you.
