Tulips: The Symbol Of Love And WealthIs there anything in the world that can express pure love towards someone? It seems that this feeling is sacred and nothing can equal it.

Once upon a time a boy named Farhad fell deep in love with Shirin, the most beautiful girl in Persia. His love reached to the sky and ran beyond the horizons: it had no limits. But one sad day, the girl was killed. Farhad could not live with his grief. He jumped over a cliff and died. From every drop of his blood rose a red tulip as a proof and memory of his pure love. This is only a legend, but due to this story the tulip flower became the symbol of perfect love and passion in Persia.

Most of the women are romantic, and a beautiful bouquet of red tulips will be the right gift to your loved one. But make sure you put a small note in the flowers to tell the story.

If your love is hopeless, the yellow tulips as a gift will express what you feel.

The word “tulip” comes from the Turkish word “tulbend,” meaning turban (eastern headdress). Although it was first cultivated in the Ottoman Empire, today it’s the national symbol of Holland.

When the tulip flower was first introduced in Holland, it was very expensive. Only the rich could afford it. It is said that one pot of tulips could buy a house, that’s why the flower was often called the “Pot of Gold.” Even now it represents wealth and high social status in Holland.

These incredible flowers can grow even in winter. If you cut a tulip, when it is still in the soil, the stem of the flower will continue to grow and will bend towards the light. The flowers remain fresh in the vase 7-10 days.

Some people use tulip petals in food, and others even make tulip wine. But keep in mind that allergic people should not try it.

The 150 species have different colors, some even have stripes on them. Tulips will be a great choice as a table decoration and will undoubtedly be appreciated as a gift.
