Almost everyone likes toys. Toys are considered to be for kids of all ages.
Train toys are popular ones. Wooden and metal toys were first made in 1860s in Europe. Electric trains were made by Lionel in 1901.
One of the toys which is much appreciated by children is train toys. They produce funny noises, are colorful and move quickly.
By the way, trains can be made of plastic, die cast metal and wood.
Wood toys have a lot of advantages. Children are usually rough with their toys, they like to break them. In this case plastic toys can be easily damaged while wooden ones can simply get nicks and cracks. One important thing to remember is that wooden toys are generally non-toxic.
Wooden trains are expensive compared with plastic ones, but they can last longer and they are worth the money spent on them. One of the most famous wooden trains in the world is Thomas train.
When buying trains the first thing to be considered is the scale. O scale and HO scale are the most popular ones. O weight is 1:48 and HO weight is 1:87. If you have the money and space, O scale is the perfect choice.
There are a lot of train types–ones that can be sat on, pushed along the floor or moved by pedal and rocker. No matter which type of train is chosen, it will please your child and will last long if you care for them.
