Shopping For A Home Party!Getting ready for a home party? Don’t know what to cook?

Do you know that heavy food is the easiest way to fall asleep right at the table? Then why are you still running around the kitchen and trying to prepare a chicken with 35 types of filling?

Of course, everybody likes to eat, but if you fill your table with a huge assortment of delicious dishes, your guests will immediately eat everything. And then they will need some action, which you will not be able to give them, because you’ll be really tired after cooking the whole day. Even if they organize some activities themselves, soon they will be hungry again–and this will be the end of the party.

So, in order to avoid such a situation, keep your cooking skills for more important occasions than a home party. It’s better (and much easier and cheaper) to go to the next supermarket and buy things that will satisfy both you and your guests.

The best way to avoid the lack of (or excess) food  is preparing little sandwiches (a lot of them). They kill the hunger, and they last the whole night. It’s easy to make them and they are good for drinks.

So, I have made a list of things you can buy for a home party.

  • Food. Buy enough stuff to prepare sandwiches (like bread, cheese, tuna, ham or roast beef). Chips and nuts are irreplaceable for beer. It would also be nice to have fruits at home, as a lot of people may prefer fruits to any other food. Soft cookies are delicious treats for sweets eaters.
  • Drinks (for 10 people). A bottle of vodka or tequila, 3 bottles of wine, a bottle of Martini, 2 big bottles of Coke or other soft drinks, at least three kinds of natural juice, 4 lemons, a can of olives (for Martini cocktails), and two buckets of ice. And ice cold beer, of course!
  • Tableware. Stick to plastic plates and cups, because it’s dangerous to put your favorite porcelain out as it risks getting broken.

If you follow my advice, you’ll save a lot of time and money. And, of course, you will be able to use the time you saved on preparing yourself for the party.

There is only one “disadvantage” in such a home party–now your friends will want to repeat it. So, you will have to get ready for hosting parties more often!
