Do you have a job interview, a conference or a business banquet in the nearest future? Or perhaps you are invited to an official dinner? It is not so difficult to decide what to wear if the meeting is a formal one.
A men’s suit is definitely the most suitable choice. However, it is one thing to choose on a suit, another one to be familiar with the culture of wearing it and combining it with other accessories.
The first thing to do is to choose an appropriate shirt with your suit. This is perhaps the most important but at the same time the easiest thing to do. The most accepted are light-colored shirts. But do not admit this as a rule. You may choose any color that corresponds with the color of the suit.
Men’s suits look more elegant when combined with a tie. Thus choosing a tie and knowing how to wear it is also very important. It is widely accepted that the tie should contain the color of the suit, but not be the same color with it. Once knotted, the tie must not go below the navel level and the narrow end of it must not be longer than the wide end.
It is not difficult to choose between shoes, as black ones are the most accepted. Dark brown shoes may also be worn if they are suitable with the suit color.
Other accessories may also be used, like belts, watches (pocket watches are perfect in formal style) and handkerchiefs, which are not widely accepted nowadays.
These tips are not necessarily to be followed. For instance, it is also accepted to wear a suit without a tie, or to wear trainers with suits. But this is regarded as a more casual style, is not preferable in business meetings and will surely spoil the elegant impression that a men’s suit may have.
